Liz Rideal

Liz Rideal, Wingate Scholar British School at Rome (2008/9) lives and works in London where she lectures at the Slade, UCL and the National Portrait Gallery.
Public permanent and temporary installations characterise Rideal’s work; recent installations include: Hawthorn Hall of Mirrors (2009) at Churchill Hospital, Oxford; and Green, Green Glass of Home (2009), a photographic studio at the V&A, London. In 2006 –7 she made projections: Cloth Fair, at Bart’s, London; and Fall, River, Snow, at Compton Verney, Warwickshire. Recent solo exhibitions in the USA include Suc des Vosges, at Lucas Schoormans Gallery, NY; and Above and Below Ground, Gallery 339, Philadelphia. A retrospective, Mandrake Tango/Works 1992 – 2002, was held at the University Gallery, University of Massachusetts.
She was included in Picturing Eden at The George Eastman House Collection, Rochester, NY, touring to other venues 2006-9.

Her work is held in the Tate, the V&A, the British Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, the Vancouver Art Gallery and Museet for Fotokunst, Denmark.
